"See the Sea"
On May 28th 2008 I left my home in Washington, DC in a '74 VW Beetle along with my three rescue cats Willy, Lena and Leo (a female) and drove 370 long but familiar miles south to Surf City, North Carolina. Washington had been my home for 23 years. I loved DC like no other place I'd ever lived but circumstances in my life had taken an unexpected change and at this point I needed a place to reflect and center my life. I grew up in North Carolina and spent much of my life on this coastal barrier island never thinking this would become my home. It has and I've remained here ever since.
